The Studio is the brainchild of jewelry designer Kim Gobbi.  During years of selling her jewelry in the greater Boston area, Kim met many talented artists and craftsmen and wanted to find a better way to promote her own work as well as that of others.  Early in the summer of 2006, The Studio opened in the downtown historic district of Newburyport, Massachusetts.  The Studio is a working studio for Jonesy’s Jewels, an open studio for anyone interested in pursuing small crafts, a place to learn jewelry making, and a boutique to showcase the works of other small studios. 

The Studio concentrates on fashion and carries only well designed limited edition items produced in small quantities or single season runs.  The Studio stocks jewelry, clothes, and accessories from fashion-forward-independent designers and small studios as far away as Australia.   Working with small production houses or directly with the artist allows The Studio to carry wares that are not available anywhere else in the area.  More and more the shop is concentrating on carrying eco-friendly lines and is working with designers that employ sustainable production practices and produce products that are environmentally responsible. For the consumer this means that the products purchased from us will be truely unique, and individually chosen for their design and aesthetic value.
